Certainly, from a consumer viewpoint, it must be, in some aspects, a bonus that two competitors are seeking to outsmart the other in design and enhance on the other company’s patents. That can only mean a positive trickle down for the end user in greater products, not so?
It appears to be a reasonable argument. On the one hand the betterments on the product is advantageous to all of us as consumers, but one has to look into this – that as courtrooms and legal suits carry on, the progress of the technology will be impeded – any progress will be bogged down with the possibility of more lawsuits and debate. Apple and Samsung now both have to fussily think about any changes – in case that they refer, in some limited way, to a patent possessed by the other.

It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. Amazing words and vision professed by Henry Ford and a person should enquire, surely, why these standards spoken by Ford are not the words and vision of every last manufacturer, not merely in the automobiles sector but in all business market sectors? Just why do we make such a practice of seeking to destroy competitors in the name of capitalistic advancement? He was the first person to accomplish this but soon after, others followed. Did Henry have a total break down due to the fact someone had developed a vehicle with doors – an idea that was a part of his design? Did this man, the Model T creator get lost in blind anger and want to sue someone who built an auto with a windscreen very similar to the Ford? No. Would Ford have desired that no-one had made another automobile? Possibly. However that is how industry works. You’ve got a concept and other improves upon it. The consumer wins. Chevrolet inevitably knocked the Model T from the marketplace with a product which was arguably considerably better.
